Recommended Notions & Accessories:
While you do not necessarily need every item below,
it is a good solid guide for some of the more basic items you need to make
CuddleBuns diapers, and most other sewing projects. Be sure and visit our
official sister-site, SewShoppe,
for all your notion needs!
- Olfa or other brand cutting mat, the largest you can accomodate.
- Olfa ergonomic 45mm rotary cutter with safety locking mechanism (BE CAREFUL, all rotary blades are dangerously sharp!).
- Olfa rotary blade sharpener (highly recommended and money-saving item, especialy for wahms!)
- A walking foot.
- Thread/seam ripper.
- Machine oil, if you do not have oil-impregnanted parts in your machine.
- Water- and/or air-erasable marking pens.
- Contact paper (or professional lamination, for pattern protection).
- Permanent fabric marker for "factory seconds", if you are interested in becoming licensed.
- Cone thread adaptor (for use with large spools of thread, or for converting Maxilock serger thread to sewing machine thread).
- Premium quality straight pins. I prefer large flower-tipped ones for
increased visibility. As a mother of small children, I won't use anything else --
when one drops, you see it!
- Gingher shears, and thread nippers. (yes, Gingher really is the best.)
- Long needle-nosed tweezers.
- Cone thread racks.
- Snap Source snap setter.
